Celebrity Cruises is giving its popular Solstice Series ships a full overhaul, starting with Celebrity Solstice in 2026. The cruise line is putting more than $250 million into updating these ships—changing everything from staterooms and restaurants to top-deck hangouts and entertainment spaces.

If you’ve sailed on Solstice before, some parts will feel familiar. But there’s also a lot that’s new: redesigned rooms, fresh dining options, new entertainment spaces, and more ways to relax on board. The updates are meant to keep things comfortable, modern, and enjoyable for travelers who want a mix of classic cruising and up-to-date experiences.
Here’s a look at what’s on the way.
A New Look, from Top to Bottom
When will it launch?
Celebrity Solstice returns to service in March 2026. The first itineraries include sailings through Asia and Australia, followed by trips to Alaska later that summer.
And if you’re someone who’s really into long adventures, Solstice will also offer a 110-night Grand Voyage starting in September 2026. It’ll visit more than 55 ports from Canada to Southeast Asia.
Redesigned Spaces to Relax and Hang Out
One of the biggest changes coming to Solstice is the addition of new places to unwind, listen to music, play games, or just hang out between ports.

- Boulevard Lounge & Bar will offer a mix of live music, game shows, and interactive events. Think low-key evenings with piano performances or daytime trivia.
- Celebrity Barcade will blend a casual sports bar vibe with games like darts, billiards, and classic board games. It’s not flashy—just a good place to hang out with friends or meet new people while catching a game.
New Dining That Doesn’t Try Too Hard

There are a couple of new restaurants coming to the ship as well—nothing too fancy or over-the-top, just solid food in thoughtfully designed spaces:
- Trattoria Rossa is a new Italian spot that brings handmade pasta, comfort food, and tableside service into a cozy setting. It’s built for slow dinners and relaxed conversation, not rushing in and out.
- Fine Cut Steakhouse will bring in the steakhouse that’s already popular on Celebrity’s newer ships. Expect dry-aged steaks, seafood, and a more laid-back version of “fine dining.”
Better Views and Outdoor Time
Solstice’s top deck is getting a refresh too, and it’s all about giving people more room to enjoy the view or take a break in the fresh air.

- Sunset Park will replace the old lawn deck with a space for open-air concerts, casual games, and outdoor dining or drinks.
- Private cabanas are being added for those who want some shade and a little more privacy while lounging.
- The Sunset Bar is being expanded to make room for more people to enjoy ocean views with a drink in hand.
Updates to Every Room (and a Few New Ones)
Every stateroom on the ship—more than 1,400 total—is being refreshed with updated decor and more thoughtful details. The idea is to make each room feel more like a place you want to spend time in, not just sleep.
There are also four new types of staterooms being added:
- Panoramic Infinite Veranda Suite
- Deluxe Panoramic Oceanview Suite
- Panoramic Ocean View Suite
- Deluxe Panoramic Ocean View
Bookings for these will open mid-June.
AquaClass rooms (which focus on wellness) are also getting updates like aromatherapy diffusers, spa-inspired showers, and yoga mats. Guests in these rooms will also have access to a new relaxation lounge at the spa.
Upgrades for The Retreat

For guests staying in suites, The Retreat is getting a bit of an upgrade too. It’s still the same private area it’s always been, but now with:
- Redesigned suites with updated layouts
- A new sundeck with more shaded areas and an oversized hot tub
- A refreshed Retreat Lounge for snacks, drinks, and downtime

Other Familiar Spots Getting a Refresh
Several popular spots on board are getting design updates as well, including:
- Café al Bacio (the ship’s cozy coffee spot)
- Martini Bar and World Class Bar
- Blu and Luminae, restaurants for AquaClass and Retreat guests
- Camp at Sea (for kids)
- The Fitness Center
We appreciate when cruise lines invest in updating their ships—it gives returning guests a fresh perspective on a ship they already know and love, while also helping the ship stay competitive with the flashier, newer options entering the scene. These upgrades strike a balance between familiarity and novelty, offering something new without losing what made the ship special in the first place.
