Royal Caribbean Group announced today its plans to order a seventh Oasis Class ship from French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique. This new addition to the Royal Caribbean International fleet is set to be delivered in 2028.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our Oasis Class with another incredible ship,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “As we eagerly await the launch of Utopia of the Seas this summer, we’re already envisioning her sister ship and the next chapter in our popular Oasis Class.”
This announcement comes on the heels of Royal Caribbean Group’s recent introduction of three new ships: Silver Nova, Celebrity Ascent, and Icon of the Seas.
“We have a fantastic partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique,” added Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “Together, we’re bringing to life the seventh Oasis Class vessel, which is truly remarkable.”
Since its inception in 2009 with Oasis of the Seas, the Oasis Class has been redefining cruising for families and adventurers alike. These groundbreaking ships introduced innovative concepts such as neighborhood design and split superstructure. The design has evolved to meet the needs of cruisers of all ages and interests.
“This order demonstrates our ongoing confidence in our partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique,” said Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique. “We are excited to work together once again as we bring this extraordinary ship to life.”
We look forward to seeing what Royal adds to this ship. In the past, the Oasis-class ships each have something that makes each one unique. We’re looking at you Harmony without your indoor pool…. We’re interested to see what they do with Utopia and this new installation.
