Disney Cruise Line has released new details about its newest ship, the Disney Destiny, set to embark on its maiden voyage in late 2025 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This heroes-and-villains-inspired cruise promises a unique and immersive experience, perfect for families looking to explore the magic of Disney at sea.
Aboard the Disney Destiny, guests will step into a world where the timeless battle between good and evil comes to life. Inspired by beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters, the ship offers themed venues, entertainment, and dining experiences that celebrate the dynamic duality of classic stories. Highlights include an unforgettable dining experience inspired by “The Lion King,” a delightful confectionary themed around “The Incredibles,” and hero-worthy accommodations that will make every family feel like they’re part of their own epic tale.

From the staterooms to the dining areas, every part of the ship will be infused with Disney’s extraordinary storytelling, combined with the signature service and family fun that defines a Disney Cruise.”
One of the most exciting features of the Disney Destiny is Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a first-of-its-kind dining experience that brings the legendary music of “The Lion King” to life. Set in a savanna-inspired venue, families will enjoy a spectacular meal as live musicians and storytellers perform iconic songs from the film, including “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata.” The restaurant’s design will transform guests into the African savanna, with lighting and special effects that go from sunrise to sunset.
For those with a sweet tooth, Edna Á La Mode Sweets is a must-visit. This confectionary, inspired by the famous fashion designer Edna Mode from “The Incredibles,” offers a playful twist on dessert-making. Guests can indulge in handmade gelato, ice cream, and other treats amidst a whimsical setting filled with nods to the film’s iconic characters.
The ship also features two casual walk-up cafes: Café Megara, inspired by the sassy heroine from “Hercules,” and Café Merida, themed after the brave Scottish princess from Pixar’s “Brave.” These vibrant spaces offer a selection of coffee, tea, and snacks, perfect for a quick pick-me-up while exploring the ship.
Accommodations on the Disney Destiny are designed with families in mind, offering spacious staterooms that blend comfort with the enchanting world of Disney. While we find Disney’s cruises are priced at a premium their cabins are more spacious than other lines and the veranda staterooms come with bathtubs, which is a must for young families. On Destiny, each verandah stateroom will ‘showcase custom artwork depicting the epic journeys of famous Disney legends and include features that uniquely meet the needs of families’.

Concierge guests can enjoy exclusive access to premium areas and luxurious suites inspired by films like “Fantasia” and “The Incredibles,” complete with breathtaking ocean views and elegant décor.
As part of Disney Cruise Line’s ongoing expansion, the Disney Destiny joins a fleet that includes the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and the upcoming Disney Adventure.
