Royal Caribbean is giving us a better picture of what to expect on Star of the Seas, the second ship in its massive Icon Class lineup. Launching in August 2025 from Port Canaveral, Florida, this new ship is shaping up to bring some big entertainment and dining experiences onboard—but in true Royal Caribbean fashion, they’re mixing the familiar with something fresh.
And while details about the third Icon Class ship—Star’s sister ship Legend of the Seas—remain mostly under wraps, all eyes are currently on Star as it prepares to make its debut.
So, what can guests expect when they step aboard this beauty?
Big Shows, Big Stunts, and Even Bigger Nostalgia
Entertainment is front and center aboard Star of the Seas. Headlining the theater schedule is Back to the Future: The Musical—yes, the Broadway hit is making the leap to sea. Expect big sets, even bigger music, and a bit of Royal Caribbean magic to bring the time-traveling adventure to life. We loved Wizard of Oz on Icon of the Seas so we’re excited to see Doc and Marty travel through time.

Also on board is Create, an original production centered around a curious robot named KRE-8 exploring creativity through song, dance, and visuals. Over at the AquaTheater, guests can take in Torque, an adrenaline-pumping water show with slackliners, synchronized swimmers, and aerialists, or families can also check out Pirates & Mermaids, a kid-friendly show with dance, comedy, and an underwater theme.

On ice, SOL takes over Absolute Zero, the ship’s ice arena, following the sun’s journey with dazzling stunts and visual effects. And with the largest orchestra at sea, Royal Caribbean is making sure every show sounds as epic as it looks.
Food-wise, Royal Caribbean is adding to its already packed lineup. The big new entry is Lincoln Park Supper Club, a 1930s Chicago-inspired dining experience that combines jazz, cocktails, and a multi-course menu. Think upscale dinner meets live performance.

This is in addition to more than 40 dining and drink venues across the ship, from casual bites to celebratory dinners. Guests can expect returning favorites like Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Chops Grille, and the Celebration Table, a private dining experience perfect for special occasions.
Families can grab a quick meal at Surfside Eatery or Basecamp in Thrill Island. The AquaDome Market—an Icon Class feature—is back with five food stands. On Star, there will be three new options serving up barbecue, Southeast Asian dishes, and South American favorites like empanadas and arepas.
The AquaDome: A View Like No Other
One of the ship’s standout spaces is the AquaDome, perched high above the decks. By day, it’s a tranquil hangout with wraparound ocean views and a massive 55-foot-tall water curtain. At night, it transforms into the heart of the action with spectacular shows, dining, and drinks. It’s the kind of place where you might grab a cocktail and watch daring high divers fly through the air—all without leaving your seat.
Whether you’re on board with toddlers, teens, or traveling without kids, Star of the Seas has something for everyone. The ship features eight themed neighborhoods designed to deliver a different experience By day you can skate indoors, tackle the rock climbing wall, hit up the Flowrider, or snack your way through the Windjammer – the largest buffet in Royal’s fleet.

After dark, the ship shifts into full nightlife mode. Guests can check out comedy at The Attic, sing at late-night karaoke, or unwind at one of over 20 bars and lounges. Highlights include Dueling Pianos, coffee-infused cocktails at Rye & Bean, and champagne under the stars at Bubbles in Central Park.
When Star of the Seas launches, it will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, including stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s beloved private island in The Bahamas. Starting in December 2025, cruisers will also have access to Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, part of the cruise line’s new beach club series. It promises to deliver the ultimate beach day with separate zones for families, partygoers, and those looking to relax.
While Star of the Seas is already packed with innovation, it’s just the second installment in the Icon Class trilogy. A third ship, Legend of the Seas, has been announced, but details are still scarce. If Star is any indication, we can expect even more big ideas in the works.
