On December 23rd, 2023, over 6,000 excited guests boarded Carnival Jubilee, the brand-new flagship of Carnival Cruise Line for its inaugural cruise, kicking off the Christmas holiday in style. Galveston Wharves’ Terminal 25, which recently underwent a $53-million enhancement project, proudly welcomed the ship. Carnival Jubilee is the fifth of six ships to join the Carnival fleet in under three years, showcasing the company’s commitment to Galveston.
President Christine Duffy expressed her excitement about the new era for Carnival in Galveston. With thrilling attractions like the BOLT roller coaster and delicious dining options like Emeril’s Bistro, Carnival Jubilee offers the quintessential Carnival experience to more people sailing from Texas.
The first guests aboard Carnival Jubilee are in for a festive treat, as the ship sets sail on a week-long Western Caribbean itinerary to celebrate Christmas. In the following week, the ship will host another group of guests to ring in the New Year. Year-round, Carnival Jubilee will embark on week-long cruises to popular destinations in the western Caribbean, including Mahogany Bay, Costa Maya, and Cozumel, Mexico.
It boasts six themed areas that offer a mix of dining, beverage, and entertainment options. Currents provides an immersive “underwater” experience with renowned chef Emeril Lagasse’s seafood restaurant, Emeril’s Bistro 717.
The Shores offers a whimsical “boardwalk” setting with Rudi’s Seagrill and the popular Italian specialty restaurant Cucina del Capitano. Guests can also enjoy unforgettable dining experiences at Big Chicken by Shaquille O’Neal, Guy’s Burger Joint, and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse and Brewhouse by Chef Guy Fieri.
The ship features innovative attractions like the top-deck rollercoaster, BOLT: The Ultimate SeaCoaster, and a stunning atrium with spectacular sea views during the day and exciting entertainment at night.
Carnival Jubilee sets a new standard for connectivity, being the first cruise ship in North America to provide 5G capability and enhanced satellite internet service availability. It is also the first cruise ship in Galveston to use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
